Amazing as a breakthrough, kinda flopped in its’ own right though. They wanted it to go too fast and have too great a range for the technology of the time. I was basically a flying fuel tank. A plane that has 132 kN of thrust from its’ turbojets needs another 79.2 in solid fuel rockets (which are a lot harder to reuse than liquid rockets) to launch? And having to put dry ice in the gas tank? Needed lots of refits cause it had lots of metal fatigue. Still it lead to all the jet powered fighters and bombers made after it.
