And now, let’s get into it and see which weapons you’ll want to lock and load to make a real impact this season.
Apex Predator
Apex Predator is by far the best rocket launcher for any DPS rotation in Destiny 2. While other launchers might edge it out in pure burst damage, Apex Predator makes up for its weaker spot just fine thanks to its Reconstruction and Bait and Switch perks. This combo is one of the best you can get on Apex, allowing auto-reloading, increased damage output, and even the potential to overfill your magazine for extended firepower. It’s a great choice for keeping up consistent damage over longer fights, and the perks make it ideal for high-stakes encounters. You can get Apex Predator as a drop from the Last Wish raid and also craft it once you’ve collected five red-bordered versions.
Commemoration
Commemoration is a versatile machine gun that fits smoothly into nearly any activity, whether it’s add-clearing in a raid or tackling your regular Nightfall run. Available from the Deep Stone Crypt raid and also craftable, this weapon shines brightest with Reconstruction and Killing Tally on the perk roll. Reconstruction overfills your mag to over 130 rounds and automatically reloads it for you when you’re not using the gun. Killing Tally grants you a nice 10% damage buff per kill, stacking up to 30% for three final blows as long as you don’t reload or holster the weapon. Combined with Reconstruction’s massive magazine boost, Killing Tally makes Commemoration a true powerhouse for sustained damage — one that would be a shame not to use.
Indebted Kindness
Despite the recent ammo nerf, Indebted Kindness is still packing a heavy punch as a rocket-powered sidearm. Sure, it’s not a full-on rocket launcher, and its blast radius and rocket travel speed may not be as high, but its damage output is more than enough to handle priority targets with flying colors. To make this sidearm even deadlier, go for the Voltshot perk for better add-clearing and Overload Champion stuns. Voltshot pairs exceptionally well with Impulse Amplifier or Lead From Gold, but feel free to experiment with other perks if you’re after a more custom fit — just make sure you have that Voltshot on your roll. You can farm Indebted Kindness in the Warlord’s Ruin dungeon.
Outbreak Perfected
Long-time Destiny 2 players will definitely recognize Outbreak Perfected — a pulse rifle that’s rarely out of the meta, and for a good reason. This kinetic weapon should be part of any Guardian’s loadout, always ready to be pulled out when the time is right. Outbreak Perfected offers consistent, reliable performance across the board, excelling in boss fights and enemy waves alike due to its deadly nanites that attach to enemies, dealing bonus damage on contact. Plus, with the seasonal Unstoppable Pulse Rifle perk, it can melt through those Unstoppable Champs in Grandmaster Nightfalls like nobody’s business. This weapon can be acquired by completing the Zero Hour Exotic mission, so gear up and farm it out ASAP if you haven’t done that already.
Graviton Lance
This exotic beauty is one of Destiny 2’s strongest pulse rifles and a total must-have for any Guardian’s Void build. It may lack the firepower needed for intense boss fights, but when it comes to add-clearing, Graviton Lance proves to be an incredibly reliable tool. Its exotic perk, Cosmology, causes defeated targets to explode and release Void projectiles, triggering powerful chain reactions that leave your enemies no chance to make it out in one piece. Pair this with something like Volatile Rounds, and you’re in for a chaotic and truly fun way to clear the battlefield — with a blast.
Lost Signal
Thanks to the seasonal Concussive Reload artifact perk, you can now weaken bosses and champions by simply damaging them with your grenade launcher. Just land a few hits and then swap to any other weapon to finish the enemy off. However, you might not even need anything else as Lost Signal is strong enough on its own, suitable for every activity from casual strikes to Grandmaster Nightfalls.
Due to it being an Area Denial weapon, you can fire it at the ground to create pools of damage that will tick the enemy down, applying the weakening debuff for the entire time. And if all that weren’t enough, Lost Signal also charges your Darkness Transcendance bar extremely fast, most likely due to each of its five projectiles counting as an individual damage pool and adding toward your Darkness progression. You can craft this weapon at the HELM, so if you haven’t unlocked it yet, go gather those red borders to add this bad boy to your loadout and handle the toughest Destiny 2 challenges head-on.
