A relative of mine posted this to Facebook. I provided alternatives to a lot of the choices made here. The person just got angry at me even though I was mostly joking around.
Let me see if I can recall.
Deli meat, we could go back to wax paper. I’m game for that. Problem was these would sometimes leak.
Bread, this is a tough one. Bake your own is about the only thing I can come up with here.
Milk, you can still get milk in cardboard cartons.
Pack of napkins, why are you still using disposable napkins? Reusable ones are drastically cheaper in the long run and can be washed.
Store made salad, make your own fucking salad. Of course most of what you buy to do so you’re unfortunately going to have to put in those damn plastic bags in the produce section. ARGH!
Plastic ketchup and mustard, you can still get both of these in glass containers. But then you have to put forth a bit more effort to get the condiment out of its container.
And if you’re buying microbeads to put in your laundry then shut the hell up about the bag you dick! You’re dropping a bunch of plastic into the sewer.
But yeah, to me, this meme is pointing out that there’s too much stuff in single use plastic, not that we should still be able to get plastic bags.
