This is a goofy, fun, yet emotionally taxing story of a family that’s lost a lot of what gave it joy and the journey they go on to regain that spark. If you haven’t seen the new Fast & Furious film, I’m highly suggest watching this first to see a small genesis of Momoa’s character in the F&F film.

This travesty of a film is shameless in the way it completely and rudely ignores the original creator. It’s based on The Adventures of Little Nemo by Winsor McCay (a graphic artist well ahead of his time). Presumably the makers banked on people not knowing or caring who McCay was since he died so long ago (1934). But his books are still in print and are well worth seeking out.
I had no idea it was based on a book, they definitely didn’t go out of their way to mention it.
I still enjoyed the movie!
