In this Wednesday, Nov. 11, 2009 photo, wrecker driver Gilbert Harrison, with MCH Towing, attaches a towing cable to a Bugatti Veyron that was driven into the water near Omega Bay in La Marque, Texas. A man blamed a low-flying pelican and a dropped cell phone for his veering his million-dollar sports car off a road and into a salt marsh near Galveston. Wait. Wait. Did the “low-flying pelican” drop the cell phone? Or, is Mr. Harrison simply telling us, in the most round-about way possible that he has the attention-span and self-discipline of a hyper-caffeinated three-year-old, and should not be permitted behind the wheel of any automobile?
Actually, that was his claim to the insurance company. BUT- it just so happens a guy recorded him driving into the water. NO PELICAN! He was convicted of insurance fraud.
