Honestly, that was the propmaster’s fault. You NEVER hand an actor a live gun unless it’s ABSOLUTELY necessary (extremely rare). The propmaster SHOULD have checked that gun before handing it off, and didn’t.
Hell, if I were a propmaster, I’d be handing actors demilled guns unless it was absolutely necessary for the scene that the gun be fired.
