Got myself an electric lawn mower and I freaking love it. It doesn’t bog down because if it encounters additional resistance from a tall patch or wet grass it just ramps up the power to keep the blade going. It is also drastically quieter, weighs half as much as my gas powered one, I don’t have to change oil, and no more trips like this one where my car doesn’t need gas but the can for the mower does.
Electric mowers can be a bit more expensive if you’re comparing the most expensive one to the cheapest gas mowers but the mid-range models are almost comparable. If you have a really large yard (I would suggest a riding mower at that point) you might need to pick up an extra battery which can be more than half the cost of the mower itself.
But this dude here, if he can afford a Tesla, he can afford an electric mower. Maybe he’s planning to commit arson?
They don’t sell a lot of solar-powered home generators. Would be nice to ID the state that license plate is from. A few states just went through a storm that knocked out power.
Tesla also sells a solar roof with a battery wall. Did a quick estimation calculator on their website, cheaper than the car.
We have no idea when or where the picture was taken. I was not assuming this was due to the hurricanes. If it is in a hurricane area I don’t blame him for not getting a solar roof. It would suck to have to replace that thing constantly because of storm damage.
I tried zooming in on the plate and can’t get a good idea of the state. I looked through a few state license plate websites as well, can’t find any that match. It can be harder to do now that some states offer multiple types and the sites I’m coming across only show the most common one. I’ve got some free time, but not enough free time to check all 50 states’ BMV sites.
I did find this image again by searching for it, looks like it was on Twitter but has since been removed. Unable to see the plate type clearly there as well. Located another image with “EWWW GAS” on the “First in Flight” North Carolina plate. I then checked other NC plate formats to see if I could find one that looked similar to the one in the picture. I could not.
It kind of looks like the South Carolina tree that’s on the plates there in the middle, but the sticker for SC is supposed to be on the lower right portion of the plate, and this dude’s is in the upper right.
Let me know if you can figure it.
This was a long walk that started with a lawn mower joke.
Dude must own a lot of lawn care equipment.
