Quick search returned that the average household income in 1958 was about $5,100.
From what I could find the average home price in 1958 in the US was just under $20,000. So this house is on the cheaper side for the time. What’s crazy is, adjusted for inflation these homes would be just under $200,000 today. But that’s not the price I was seeing looking at average home prices for the US.

Average home price ins 2020 was about $329,000.
Estimated average income in 2020 was about $67,521.

Granted these numbers are for the entire country and I’m sure swing wildly. Housing around here has an average price higher than the rest of the country.

I was also curious about the square footage of this house and it’s not on the flyer. I did look up houses in the area listed on the flyer and wouldn’t you know it. I think I found one of these. The sale is currently pending, asking price $300,000. Square footage at 1,372. One hell of a profit margin if you bought in 1958!
