Oh, man. I am sooooo damned old, I remember when there were cars driving around with these damned things on ’em. I also remember the rubber strips people attached to their bumpers hanging down to drag the pavement, presumably for “lightning protection.” Good times, good times.
I think the strips on the back of the cars which dangled down to the road surface were meant to discharge static electricity. “Hence” this was supposed to cure car sickness. I was about to laugh at such technical naivety then I remembered trump.
