Much less polemic or fraud with conflict than I was expecting, “Stan & Ollie” is still a captivating story of how one of the greatest comedic duos fell apart due to bad expectations, money, bad heatlh, lack of money, marriage, and money problems. John C. Reilly disappeared completely into his character, and while I wasn’t overly familiar with Steve Coogan, he was pitch perfect as Stan Laurel.

Coogan is a very gifted performer. Look out for Philomena, a film he starred in w Judy Dench. Also worth watching is his creation Alan Partridge, an excruciating and hilarious portrayal of a D-list celebrity with absolutely no self awareness or empathy. He made several series.
I will generally only remember actors if they’ve been in something crazy, like JCR in Talladega Nights, or Step Brothers.
