I got about halfway through this Netflix series before I realized that it shared a LOT of plot points with “Into The Night” and at one point they even referenced the things that the story from that show, and it was at this point that I thought to myself, hey now, this show is sharing a universe with “Into The Night” and it certainly feels like another “super dramatic for no reason” series from the same people, and wouldn’t you know it, it’s IS in the same universe. This is something that I thought only the MCU could do, but apparently Netflix is also able to set two different shows in the same situation with completely different casts.
What I said about “Into The Night” holds true here, there’s a TON of dramatic stuff that’s just there to be dramatic, and many too over the top military and political situations that feel way too contrived, but at the end of the day, it’s a decent post-apocalyptic story involving a submarine, which I apparently have a particular weakness for.
Hopefully they get a second season out of this one, or even end up with a new series a couple years down the road.
