I believe the question was asked back in Victorian times whether zebras were able to be domesticated or ridden. The answers were found to be (a) no, temperament is too vicious, and (b) no, the ankles are too weak to carry any great weight.

Hence my belief that this picture is of a painted horse.
I concur. That doesn’t look like a zebra other than the stripes.
