The era of Marvel superhero movie domination is here to stay, and the proof is in the 2021 box office returns.

I went to one move in the last two years: “Spider-man No Way Home” and I completely regret the decision to go. Dispite what AMC would like you to believe, they’ve not changed a single thing in their theaters and aren’t policing mask usage at all. That movie was released during a brief window when we though Omicron was nothing to worry about and I thought that the literally dozens of emails that I’ve gotten from AMC begging me to come back to the theaters were right, that they had a special team cleaning the theaters between movies and that their entire a/c system had been upgrade, and they were asking everyone to wear a mask. I’m here to tell you it’s the same overworked minimum wage employees doing the cleaning, I couldn’t tell any difference in the air, and not a single person was wearing a mask at my showing.
