Snowbird kitty: Lost cat heads home to Maine — from Florida

PORTLAND, Maine (AP) — A Maine family that long ago gave up on a lost family cat is being reunited — more than six years and 1,500 miles later. Denise Cilley, of Chesterville, said she was shocked to get a voicemail last week announcing her cat, Ashes, had been located in Florida.

This cat must really hate the snow.

    Glad she was able to be reunited with her family. I wonder how she got all the way from Maine to Florida. Crazy. Did she walk? Hitch a ride? Became someone else’s pet for awhile and that family moved to Florida and never bothered to check if she was chipped?

    Looks like she hates being at the airport as much as the rest of us do.
