DeSantis says people calling for him to condemn Nazis are trying to ‘smear’ him

Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis on Monday lashed out at those who called on him to condemn Nazi demonstrations that had taken place over the weekend near Orlando, accusing his political opponents of trying to “smear me as if I had something to do with it.”

    Remember when we all agreed that Nazis were bad? It wasn’t even controversial. We knew about the Holocaust and we all agreed it never should have happened. Now, there are enough people who want to do it again that politicians feel the need to pander to them.

    Ron, it’s easy, all you have to say is, “Of course Nazis are bad. They’re Nazis!” It’s not that difficult, at least for those of us that don’t rely on the support of Nazis.
