author of that article has no clue how politics works. saying that he’s just an “aesthetic populist” is ridiculous. No one is ever allowed to have soft support of something? no one’s ever permitted to change their views?
thanks for pulling that out of your ass, it’s a nice reminder that the guardian isn’t always right.
Trusting Joe Biden when he says he supports unions is like… oh, I don’t know… trusting the guy who made it impossible to declare bankruptcy on student loan debt saying he’s going to cancel student loan debt. Or trusting the guy who got a record amount of campaign contributions from health insurance and big pharma saying he’s going to give a public option. Or trusting the guy who helped build cages for children at the border saying he’s going to stop caging children at the border. Or trusting the guy who voted in favour of a failed bill to allow states overturn Roe v Wade saying he’d codify Roe v Wade federally “immediately” if elected.
You want me to go on? ‘Cause I can.
Newsflash: talk is the cheapest currency there is in Washington and Joe Biden is the cheapest huckster there is. Why don’t you look at his actions before leaping in front of justified scepticism.
You’ll have to ask one, won’t you? But that’s the point I’m trying to make here: A Republican is naked in their corruption and they don’t pretend to be anything else. A Democrat will say anything to look good but do the exact opposite and people like you will go “Yeah, but they said the right things!”.
Another example (I could do this all day): Trump told us he didn’t care about what the Saudis did and was going to sell weapons to them. Biden said we weren’t going to sell them weapons and were going to punish them for murdering a journalist… but didn’t do any of that and sold them weapons.
You really wouldn’t. I mean, you would, unless you hadn’t been living under a rock for the entirety of the past ten decades, or so. Union busting has been a plank in their platform since the 1920s, at least.
So I guess the union busters and Kelloggs are just shitting their pant in fear at Biden’s sternly worded letter promising thing will will never happen in a million years.
Sure, Joe. Sure…
Don’t be fooled: Joe Biden is no friend of unions | Gabriel Winant | The Guardian

This rhetoric seems very familiar….
TBF: If the rhetoric seems familiar, it is only because the logic is *flawless*; don’t vote for Democrats because they are imperfect. [/s]
Where do you think the Republicans stand on this issue….?
You didn’t answer.
Where do you think Republicans stand on this issue…?
I’ll wait….

You see how easy this is?

Shitting. Their. Pants.
Still didn’t answer.
What is wrong with you that you can’t answer a simple question…?
“Do it, or I’ll do it for you… and you wont like how I do it.”
