Spider-man 2, much like Iron Man 2, takes an extremely successful superhero and makes him even more successful. Danny Elfman is back on the soundtrack, but I noticed that he definitely tuned down the “Elfman” quality, so it’s more of a Spider-man soundtrack and a Elfman production, which is all well and fine, but that original movie’s soundtrack was absolutely banging. My favorite part of this film was when Doc Oct was just yeeting passengers off the subway train and Spidey was having to scramble to save them all. The movie itself features two massively iconic scenes: walking away from the suit and lifting the impossibly heavy structure. If it’s one thing that the director (Sam Raimi) knows how to do, it’s frame a comic book movie and not just a movie about a comic book character, if that makes any sense.
As for the 4k / hdr, this is a great disk to watch, there’s nearly no film grain / noise reduction and all the bright HDR stuff is suitably bright.
