The Hungover Games: Directed by Josh Stolberg. With Ross Nathan, Sam Pancake, Ben Begley, Herbert Russell. A spoof on The Hangover (2009), The Hunger Games (2012) and other movies, TV series etc. 4 men, with hangovers after a bachelor party, find themselves in a future, dystopian, kill or be killed game.

It’s one of those shitty parodies that you never want to watch because all the jokes are obvious and labored, but honestly, I enjoyed watching this as my Sunday morning goof off movie. The jokes are mostly obvious, but a good number of them landed pretty well.

    The problem with comedy movies these days is that the jokes have to be dumbed down to translate well. Studios are more interested in the Chinese market than the American market.

    This is one of the many reasons Ghostbusters 2016 failed: they dumbed down the jokes for a market that was never going to see it (Chinese gov’t bans the showing of movies with ghosts).
