Per IMDB, this was filmed at the same time as “King Solomon’s Mines” and uses the same soundtrack, with only 30 minutes of new music added for the sequel. What’s weird to me is how rough this one feels compared to the first one. The story makes much more sense than KSM, but the special effects and general feel of the entire thing is just plane ridiculous. Case in point, there’s a scene in which Quartermain is forced to shoot a charging lion, but everything after the stock footage of the lion entering the tunnel is clearly a poorly constructed stuffed animal. James Earl Jones is here as a native warrior with an impressive battle axe, and Cassandra Peterson is visibly in the movie with no speaking roles in one of her few non-Elvira appearances, so it’s not all bad, but I’d still consider it completely skippable.
