Burt Reynolds is at the top of his hotness game, playing a good ol’ boy who doesn’t mean much harm, but is shanghaied into joining and old prison buddy in a criminal enterprise to help the Justice Department to build a case against a politician that has absolutely taken over an entire county, running drugs, underage prostition, and corruption through every place of business within it’s county line. Reynolds just oozes chemistry with everyone he shares the screen with, including a woman that won’t go anywhere without her two cats. These seemed to be real cats too, they must have been real well trained, because there were several scenes that they were pretty chill about all the violents acting going on around them. The boat and car stunts were pretty impressive with Reynold’s stunt double doing a jump off a car that was flipping, I have no clue how they got their insurance to sign off on that particular deal.
