Maybe we’ve got the timeline wrong, mixing up cause and effect. The current batch of trump-loving science denying republicans are not themselves taking ivermectin. They are the end result of ivermectin having been taken. Successfully. After the now-healthy horse has trotted off leaving a squirming mass of internal parasites writhing on the floor but making no progress in any direction, identifiable by all the tiny red maga hats. To take the metaphor to its logical conclusion, those parasite themselves have their own parasites which go by such names as gohmert, greene, de santis etc.
Ivermectin has been around since 1981 and is a medication used to treat parasite infestations in humans, including head lice, scabies, river blindness (onchocerciasis), strongyloidiasis, trichuriasis, ascariasis, and lymphatic filariasis. Its creators won the Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine for its discovery and applications in 2015. It is on the World Health Organization’s List of Essential Medicines. Ivermectin is approved by the US Food and Drug Administration was the 420th most commonly prescribed medication in the US in 2018.

I bet if we looked in your medicine cabinet we’d find ‘horse aspirin’ or ‘horse penicillin’ since there are also animal variants of these common used human medications.

I also don’t take Nyquil when I have a headache or Advil when I cut my finger because I’m smart enough to recognize what the appropriate medication is needed for different circumstances. They list the intended use right on the box. You know what’s on the box these morons are using to treat a viral infection (not worms)? A fucking horse, because what they’re buying is intended to be used in horses, not humans.
