    Was I the only one whose cat wasn’t a scratchy asshole?

    No. The first cat I had was, so we mostly just left him alone. My last two would actually demand for humans to sit down so they could curl up on your lap. The current two, which we’ve had for less than a year, will occasionally curl up on your lap. Neither of them have scratched at us regularly. There was one time, but it was a “hey, we need you to get in this crate” situation.

    none of mine are exactly “scratchy assholes”, but not even one of them gives a fuck if I get scratched incidentally to them going somewhere or doing something else.

    yea I can relate. my cat doesn’t know how to play fight. so when he does, it’s all on.
