around here they occasionally send an underaged person into liquor stores to test the cashiers and the business. I can’t imagine it would be hard to the same thing to restaurants , especially if you have scorned ex employees that point you in the right direction LOL
Done here too. The company I worked for while going to school was very aware of such things. When a high sale store lost their license for selling to an underage person in one of those stings it become company policy that we asked for ID for everyone, no matter how old they looked. Customers were pissed, we got yelled at and threatened. Portents of things to come from the whiny bitches I’ve seen yelling about masks. Carding everyone seems to be pretty normal around here now though.
I used to get all kinds of underage kids trying to buy tobacco and alcohol. Those fuckers would try ANYTHING to get me to sell to them. People that I knew for a fact were the same age as me would present me with a fake ID and even after I say to them, “moron, I’m in your chemistry class” they’d try to things like “what? no, that must be my younger brother”. “Dude, your ID says “Steve”. You want me to believe your parents named both you and your younger brother Steve? Get the fuck out of here.” And fortunately I had an employer who backed me up on these things. Between that and people trying to buy after 1AM, the “I forgot my ID”, people offering me cash, etc. I always wondered, why not just make a friend that’s 21 or older? It’s not that hard. It’s what I did.
“We contacted the restaurant. They claimed they had no knowledge of minors being served alcohol, but they would make sure the owner knew about Ashley’s experience.” Of fucking course they’re going to say that. They’re not going to freely admit that “oh yeah, we totally server teenagers alcohol”. Good on Ashley for refusing.
