It’s almost like some things shouldn’t be left to the free market because when you’re always trying to minimize costs and maximize profits in some industries, people fucking die.
Public utilities are really, really boring, cumbersome & difficult to deal with sometimes, but they deliver their services for very nearly the lowest price possible while maintaining high quality standards. Usually while paying a decent living wage in a good working environment. I know this, because I work for one.
