Season one of a show run by Joss Whedon, who was promptly slandered by people he worked with 20 years ago. His apparent offense was that he was like, really rude to some people, but because he had all the power on the show he created, ran, wrote, and directed, they didn’t feel empowered to speak up for themselves at the time and decided to wait 20 years right when the marketing for “The Nevers”. It’s ridiculous, but it is what it is. HBO has decided he’s not going to be the show runner any more due to these 20 year old accusations that he once said something mean to someone, so season two is likely going to be much different than what season one was.
On that subject, season one is more than I expected it to be, I wish there was a way to communicate what I want to say without giving away what made it interesting, but the best I can say is if you’ve enjoyed the sum of Whedon’s work prior to this, you’ll very likely enjoy season one of this show as well.
