The founding fathers were trying to prevent a “tyranny of the majority” but over the past 200 years we have instead ended up with a “tyranny of the minority” that we need to deal with.
I think we agree here. I don’t think it’s fair to the majority of citizens that they can’t get legislation passed that would help most Americans (including many who oppose that very legislation) because a few dimwitted fucksticks can’t see beyond their own front porch.

This is true, but Los Angeles County has 18 Congressional districts, whereas those seven states will have 14 Congressional representatives after reapportionment, meaning that blue dot gets to punch above its weight in the House. That’s why the House is population based whereas the Senate is based on state boundaries.
but as we’ve all seen in the last 12 years holding the senate seems to be more of the power move , which would be done by population in a democracy. the fact that we have no way to punish senators or representatives for sitting on their hands just to stop the government from accomplishing anything is pathetic. how many times did mitch the bitch use the phrasing about doing the presidents will or going with the presidents plan. any other job in the nation where you had a new boss come in and you refused to work with them , you’d be GONE. way past time for term limits on senators.

Which would be fine if Mitch would be willing to do his actual job instead of just acting like an obstinate child.

Damned if I don’t have to agree with you.
