It’s difficult for me to separate Bob Odenkirk from his more humorous roles, as I’m pretty sure he’s been primarily a funny guy, with the small exception of his most recent ‘Better Call Saul’, which I haven’t had the opportunity to check out yet. “Nobody” feels like a fun crossover of Keanu and John Wick. Hell, this movie could actually take place in the same universe as Wick. The stunts are amazing, the gunplay is inventive, and there’s several familiar faces that show up to add color to the story, which I appreciate.
Comparing it to John Wick though, the prompt for Nobody’s resumption of violence is much weaker than Wick’s was, and I think the film could have done that particular piece of story much better as everything was much too convenient for the action setup. It’s still a great film, just too convenient.
surprisingly good. 4 stars.
