Good article – pulls a lot of threads together. Where it fails is on its second promise – of explaining why it’s a problem for the GOP. Because from over here, it sure looks like their anti-semitic, PEZ-dispensing ass-hattery has got them:
a) a president with a good chance in a second run either by him or his dynasty, despite the fact that by any reasonable measure he was fucking useless and his progeny are horrific,
b) the most radical right-leaning SCOTUS in a generation or two plus courts all the way down stuffed to the gills with rabid supporters, no matter how unqualified,
c) a hamstrung Dem. Senate and House,
d) a base so blind to their failings that despite half a million Americans dropping dead of COVID not only did just 40,000 votes separate Trump and Biden in the general but more than half of them think that a conspiracy theory involving their opponents setting up and running an international paedophile ring in order that they can drink the blood of terrified children to stay young has at lest some merit.
I mean, did I fucking miss anything? Seems to me crawling into bed with anti-semites is a feature, not a bug. Where’s their incentive to change their fucking behaviour now?
Judging by the fact the courts threw out pretty much every election challenge the campaign brought up, no reasonable non-hyper-partisan/crazy person (unlike you) would agree judges or SCOTUS are kneeling at the feet of the Great and Rotten Orange™.
And the Senate and House aren’t hamstrung at all. They slammed through $1.9T of unnecessary “stimulus” without any Republican support whatsoever, and there’s another $3T of “infrastructure” coming up (aka more bailouts and pork for their friends & supporters). The money printing press is spewing like crazy — and nobody is talking about how the money in your wallet is going to be worth less thanks to inflation, or the 28 Trillion dollar debt that’s impossible to pay (even if they confiscated the entire monetary wealth of all the rich people in the US).
But keep the hate train choo chooing. I’m just here for the downvotes.

I’m pretty convinced that 2022 is not going to be a picnic and 2024 will downright suck. We’re going to end up with a President twice as virulent as Trump but without the stupidity, we’ll be lucky if we don’t all end up in reeducation camps or on the gallows as sympathizers.
