Being that Socialists are completely lacking in winning anything other than safe Dem seats this doesn’t bode well for Democrats in 2022 or 2024 at all. Nothing loses in Congressional, Senatorial or National politics as completely and effectively as Socialism.
The Dems barely pulled it off in 2020, barely winning the Senate and losing seats in the House even though they won the White House, in spite of Socialism and only because Trump at the top of the ticket was so repugnant.
The next two elections are likely to be very ugly for Democrats.
TL;DR Bernie Sanders is the gift to the GOP that keeps on giving.
No. And I will vote Blue, every time, no matter how Far Left the Candidate is, because of how repugnant the Right and the GOP have become. But none of that changes the truth of what I wrote above. I’d love to be wrong about it but I’m not. Check out the forecasts for 2022. Watch out how the Democratic Party fares in Nevada in ’22 and ’24 now that the “Democratic Socialists” are in charge of the State Party. The Left’s assessment of their own Political skills is vastly overblown. Sanders deft Political skills undermined the Democrats and Clinton in 2016 to the point where his followers started devouring the Russian Agitprop driven Guccifer2 bullshit wholesale and Trump ended up President. More of Sanders supporters voted for Trump than voted for the Green and Libertarian candidates put together, that’s politically smart a guy Sanders is. Also: Who had the bright idea of adding the word “Democratic” to Socialism to try to make European Socialist policies more palatable to the Middle Class in America? Shows you how Politically adept they are right there.
Go look up which dems supported “socialist” policy like medicare for all last election and which ones didn’t. Then go look up which ones won and which ones lost. Feel free to correlate it with whether they were running for safe seats or not. And then, most importantly, come up with some disingenuous bullshit to explain it all that somehow fails to see the obvious.
How many of those that won were “Democratic Socialists”? Did ANY of them beat a sitting Republican? Has a Democratic Socialist ever beaten a sitting Republican for higher office?
15 seconds of googling later: Yes. “30-year-old Marine veteran Lee Carter’s underdog 9-point victory in Virginia’s 50th district House of Delegates race against sitting Republican Majority Whip Jackson Miller.”
So that’s 1… and a State Delegate, not a Congressman, or a Senator. If you want to call State Delegates higher office nothing can stop you. Pat yourself on the back as hard as you want until 2022 and I’m proven correct. And again, I will vote Blue no matter how Democratically Socialist a candidate is, but it’s not me you need to be worried about.
Another thing you should be worried about is how you just validated my point about the Left thinking it’s doing so much better at winning over voters than it actually is. Pride goeth before the fall, they say.
“And the staff would be taking severance checks with them, thank you very much.” . . . isn’t that theft? you don’t get severance checks for quitting. undercover republicans everyone of them

are you seriously so confused on what the massive differences are between Socialists and Democratic Socialists?

Keep in mind, please, that Virginia isn’t exactly a bastion of Democratic establishment.
