I wonder what it’s like to be a complete and total piece of shit of a human being, completely devoid of empathy, that can’t write in his own language correctly.
I hope some strong bodied young man does what he has to and takes everything he needs from sniveling Tim the cuck and leaves soyboy Tim and his white privileged stick family shivering naked in the cold with no food or water – because only the strong survive, don’t ya know.
I once heard that Texans were living proof that *someone* had had conjugal relations with bison. This particular Texan is not an effective counter-argument.
It does feel like whoever this is has taken some time out of their day to simultaneously advertise that they have a bunch of stuff, and that they think it is ok for others to come and get it with outside the box thinking. Even if neither of those are true someone is likely to read it that way.
This man has no idea what the function of government is does he? If he means what he says here, no, clearly not. How does he think people are supposed to provide electricity and water for themselves? Water, maybe. You could catch rain water or melt snow and boil it and hope that boiling it kills enough of what’s living in it to not kill you. How are you going to boil it? You need heat. Hmmm. How are you going to get heat? Burn wood? Where are you going to get that wood? Unless you have a ton of land with a bunch of trees you’ll have to buy that wood from someone that has wood. Interesting. It’s almost like we’re all interconnected and we rely on each other for different goods and services.
And what about electricity, how are the people supposed to generate that? Legit question here because there is no easy way for an individual or small family unit to reasonably generate electricity. Generators run on fuel that has to be purchased, using an infrastructure and monetary system mostly paid for with money from taxes. Solar panels? Well, those had to be purchased. No individual is building solar panels. Same with wind turbines or geothermal. I suppose an individual might be able to build a windmill type setup if they had the know-how. But you’re not going to be generated enough power with that to do anything more than run a 4W nightlight.
The “rugged individual” concept is dead and rampant capitalism is what killed it. We’re far too interconnected whether some of us want to admit it or not.
I have a friend in Houston, in a nice upper middle class neighborhood full of large expensive homes. She says it’s been the Hunger Games down there. Her neighbor tore down their fence to burn as firewood for heat. While they were enjoying the fire their water pipes in the attic all froze (that’s how they do it in Texas because lax building codes/regulation) and their ceilings caved in.
I’m a bit confused by your pronoun usage. Did the neighbor’s tear down their own fence or your friend’s fence? If the former, hopefully it’s a big fence. If the latter, good luck to your friend in their upcoming civil lawsuit.
And because of where I live the first time I heard that people had water pipes in their attic I was thoroughly baffled. Like, why would anyone do that? Even without considering freezing and bursting of pipes if you have any kind of plumbing issue it could end up ruining a lot of other things in a house. All I have to really worry about is my basement or anything directly under a failure since all of my feeder lines run up from the bottom of the house.
Yes, luckily her house made out ok. Virtually no one has a basement in Texas. I believe in other southern states they make you put the water pipes in the foundation, but Texas codes are lax or non-existent and it’s cheaper and faster to put them in the attic, since it’s Texas there is no heat or insulation in the attic. Most of Texas has it’s power back (they lost it because the coal, gas, and even the nuclear plants aren’t insulated because it costs money to do so) but a huge number of people have no water because of frozen/burst pipes and mains.
I have water lines in my attic here in Florida because when they built the house they used a type of pipe that could rupture. When I bought the house the previous owners had to pay for redoing all the pipes and it’s much easier and cheaper to run the lines up the one wall, then through the attic instead of ripping up the foundation and replacing the pipes.

That all sounds freaking terrible.

This man was the mayor of a town in Texas at the time of the post. He has since resigned.
When I thought this was just some random dickhead it was fucking terrible, who the hell is voting these pieces of shit in down there in Texas?
