Texture is probably different. If you were to knock on it I’m sure it would sound “wrong”. If someone advertised that as being marble when trying to sell they could get themselves in a bit of trouble for it.
I wonder what the law would be on something like that. For instance, say a house is advertised as having a certain feature, how long do you have to figure out that the house does not in fact have the feature and be able to take legal action, and have a good chance of winning?
Hopefully a good home inspector would catch this if the buyer did not.
