I wouldn’t say they were gullible… the other choice on the ballot is a Democratic party whose base rabidly hates religions, their traditions, beliefs and especially religious freedoms (as I post this on a site that generally hates religion). What choice did they have?
most do not hate religion , we hate the hypocrisy that so many “religious” people live by and religious freedom also means freedom from religion. but really which virtues of christianity do you see trump setting an example of?
Biden is a devout Catholic that attends church just about every Sunday.
How does that compare with Trump…?
I’d say (like most conservatives) you are full of shit with you’re “what choice did they have?”
They didn’t choose religion, they chose bigotry…
Remind me, which vice president was in control of the administration when the government tried to prosecute the Little Sisters of the Poor with mandates that went against their religious beliefs? Or which presidential candidate said they’d take away churches’ tax exempt status if they didn’t agree with the government’s policy on same sex marriage? Or what party is in control of the city & state governments when Christian groups are “fired” (or fined, arrested or shut down) from providing healthcare, food and adoption programs?
Trump is obviously no religious role model, but I doubt even you can honestly say Uncle Joe or fellow Catholic Nancy Pelosi would provide any kind of legislative protection for religious people who believe in things contrary to what the government tells them to.
I’m so tired of this Christian Victimhood when they’re actually the ones in control.
And I’ve said this elsewhere, if Churches can receive taxpayer funds and are going to get involved in politicking from the pulpit then they should also have to pay taxes. I feel the same way about corporations that rake in billions in profit and pay zero taxes.
Your second article never mentions that they can’t give out food because they’re Christian. They can’t give out food because the ordinance prohibits any private group from giving out food in residential areas. The law doesn’t say anything about religion. I even disagree with this ordinance but don’t try to claim it’s persecuting Christians when it’s a law that doesn’t specifically target them. That’s disingenuous.
I’d agree with you that all churches (and pastors that are especially polarizing, like Raphael Warnock) should stay clear out of politics, but I disagree with your notion that Christians are “in control”.
There’s still some political capital with voters to be had by saying “I belong to ____ or _____ denomination” instead of anybody in power admitting “I don’t believe in a Flying Spaghetti Monster”, but if evangelicals were truly in control, football on Sunday wouldn’t be a thing and everything beyond Chick-Fil-A would be closed those days too.
Something I never got about sitcoms and football interfering with church time, as that seems to be the only place I’ve encountered this “conflict”. I’m on EST so football doesn’t start until 1PM. Isn’t church typically long done by then? I think the latest services I see advertised on church signs here start at 11AM. Is church really lasting longer than 2 hours? I doubt it. I’ve been to a full Catholic mass followed by funeral services and it was about that long. Now, on the west coast I can see the conflict if you live on the west coast but follow an east cost team but most of the west coast teams play at 4PM EST, which would be 1PM PST. So again, what’s the big deal? This has to be because of sitcom writers not understanding time zones and/or when football starts right?
Every church I ever went to here in Florida had multiple services on sunday. the main church we went to when I was a kid had an early morning service at 7am, mid morning service at 10am, then an evening service at 5pm.
Yeah, I mean the Bible says you can own slaves so who is the Government to tell you different. Fuck the Human Rights of the enslaved, it’s your Christian Rights that are paramount!
If your Preacher tells you Blacks are inferior and you can own them and shit on them as much as you like who are the damn Democrats to force you to follow the teachings of Jesus and do the right thing?
Fucking Conservatives are such whining snowflakes it’s incredible. Is there literally anything they can see without big ass “I me me mine” blinders on?

This article is a little old but get the fuck out of here with that bullshit persecution complex.
