Honestly, some of these HD remasters have been fantastic, I bought The Wire in HD and it’s one of the best upgrades I’ve seen, including Star Trek: TNG.
It definitely worked on me, I would never have bought it if it was SD and I remembered really enjoying the show back when it was on it’s first run.
Also, I’m not on the “If it’s not HD, it’s shit” train, but seeing what they did with the garbage Babylon 5 conversion vs what they did with The Wire, I think The Wire wins every time.
So many problems with what they tried to do with B5. They didn’t actually remaster anything. They just did the zoom and crop. JMS has written up a few times why a full HD version won’t be available. It’s mostly because the TV rights owner won’t fork out the cash. I think all the CGI effects would have to be completely redone as well. The live actions shots were shot on film though.
So instead making new great shows, the PTB wanna suck the old ones, drier than a mummy?!

Yeah, but it doesn’t change the fact, that they’re preying on people’s nostalgia, “if it isn’t HD, its shit”, attitude, and other shit.

It would be nice, but probably will never happen.
