This graphic has been floating around the memesphere, so here’s the article that it went with.
TL;DR he has FOUR roommates that he’s splitting costs with AND he’s still on his family plan for his phone.

Sanctimonious and a lying piece of crap truly is the most annoying of combinations. No doubt the insultingly paltry amount he pays is house cleaner is the only legit sum on there.
The only way that amount would not be immoral is if he’s amortizing a Roomba.
He’s splitting that house cleaner bill. From the article:
So with 4 roommates that means that total expenditure for the residence is $150. That seems a little more realistic.
I’m more concerned with the rent figure. If they are splitting that evenly then the total rent is $4,125 a month. That seems insane. I know he’s living in Cambridge, MA but wow. That’s something in the area of triple my mortgage. I’m curious how many square feet that is. I think we all know that living in a more populated area is going to cost more than living in a less populated one when it comes to dwelling costs. And living with less people contributing to rent will increase each individual’s contribution. Guess he’s not planning on moving in with a romantic partner any time soon.
And if he’s also splitting utilities 4 way that’s $975 total which also seems dumb high but could be realistic for the area.
At least his transportation cost is lower than most people who have a car payment. When I budget I include the car payment along with anything else associated with the car.
The cell phone and internet spending seem reasonable (assuming internet is split with the roommates as well).
His health insurance seems a bit on the low side.
I mean, if I did the math right and he’s spending $2,775 over 12 months that is 33,300. That means he’s able to save 66,700 a year. That’s pretty damn impressive.
Now if he ever decides to have kids he can start kissing a large extra chunk of that away each month. His rent situation would probably change drastically as well there.
I’d kind of like to see a follow up article for this guy in 5 years and then again in 10.
