    The meals aren’t worse, your ability to taste them is worse because planes fly faster at higher altitudes (less wind resistance) so the planes are pressurized more than ever. The constant flow if recycled air dries out your nasal passages, inhibiting your ability to taste.

    And that’s only on the flights long enough to require a meal.

    Planes fly slower than they did when I was a kid. They couldn’t build them strong enough to handle the landings. Well, they could, but it added way too much weight.
