Lots of tweets by someone who doesn’t know history, or tactical gear.
1. The black panthers did it first. As far as I am aware they were the first organization to lawfully petition the government armed, to ensure the Gestapo didn’t round them up.
2. The dress slacks most certainly are not dress slacks but 5.11 tactical pants.
3. No one wears tight pants, least of all the military. Chaffing isn’t a problem in properly made clothing.
4. Those plate carriers are actually somewhat on the larger side, especially when compared to what is usually worn by infantry on deployment.
5. No one in the military travels light. Basic combat loads are somewhere between 80 and 130 pounds. Not only is this a common complaint but there are studies upon studies that show how it increases injury and reduce his combat effectiveness and the ability to engage the enemy.
6.Going prone and to engage the enemy isn’t a thing anymore and hasn’t been since the invention of ballistic plates, & 130 pounds of BS you have to carry — especially in urban environment. Going prone is only something you do in call of duty when you’re playing noobs.
7. Red flannel is traditional North American hunting camouflage. Also there really isn’t an effective camouflage pattern for urban environments. And they’re not there to fight they’re there to peaceably petition their government.
8. None of the people in this protest are responsible for the hyper militarization of police, or their excessive willingness to murder young children. That is a separate issue, one that I think you would find if you talk to these protesters, you would find you have common ground.
9. Rolling isn’t a thing irl.
10. Cargo pockets are designed to have things stuffed in them. Many first aid kits are specifically designed to go in cargo pocket. Or it could just be snacks.
