Yup. It’s going to be a very long and sucky death filled summer for a lot of people if History and the entire Medical and Scientific community are right and the GOP is wrong.
Pennsylvania has been cooking the books. County coroners started calling out the state secretary of health for lying about cv -19 deaths in their county.
Additionally I personally know of several cases (more then a half dozen) where the state returned death certificates because they wanted them changed to CV 19, even though it was unrelated, including a drowning & a stillbirth. which has happened in at least 2 counties I have personal knowledge of.
your first sentence is correct, but that’s the horror that we all knew was coming, in that the covid patients would be taking the beds that normal patients would need to survive whatever unrelated ailment they had.
you have sources for the second two comments? they smell like bs.
Do some research Tiki. The Lycoming County coroner made a video about it which add a minimum was widely Shared regionally on Facebook.
I’m a paramedic. Part of my job is fairly regularly dealing with funeral home director’s doctors, corners and County EMA directors.
In Pennsylvania at least (because of our commonwealth structure) a lot of things like death certificates get filed through local officers as opposed to be handled at a state or regional level.
Additionally policies have been put in place that well increase fatalities.
Are cardiac arrest protocol was changed so that we only do CPR for 10 minutes and then stop. Even in a cardiac arrest witnessed by EMS, or for immediate bystander CPR was provided, Regardless of if the patient has repeatedly shockable rhythms (arrests with non shockable rhythms rarely/never lead to resuscitation)
And also transportation of cardiac arrest patients to a hospital is rarely indicated or appropriate. There are outlying situations that form an exception to the rule. An example would be someone having a heart attack where the paramedic has obtained a 12 lead knows that that is the cardiac arrest and has a mechanical CPR device like an auto pause or a Lucas. Mechanical CPR devices can safely and effectively provide CPR during transportation. Allowing transportation to a cardiac Cath Lab and clearing of the blockage.
But the ability to transport these patients has been completely verboten from the state
It’s too soon to reopen. We did this shit a hundred years ago. It led to a second wave of the Spanish Flu that killed TWICE as many as the first wave.

Many of the deaths have nothing to do with CV 19.
