The Comics Code Authority was a bunch of meddling busybodies who set back sequential art by several decades.
They were a response to that particular moral panic about murder, satanism, and ill humors. Without that stamp I’m not sure what comics would even be today.
Better. Probably with something akin to the movies, but then again books don’t have a rating system.
