Atheist group asks IRS to probe megachurch over pro-Trump rally says event violates rule banning political participation

The Freedom From Religion Foundation, an atheist group advocating for the separation of church and state, has asked the IRS to investigate a Florida megachurch hosting a Trump rally planned for Friday, insisting the event violates IRS rules banning political endorsement by churches.

    The government does not have the authority to destroy religion.

    Thus, the government does not have the authority to tax it, or restrict it’s speech.

    Religious speech has been a key competent of American Politics for a century before we were a country, and religious sermons and tracts were key in our declaring independence. Learn some history. I suggest The Ideological Origins of the American Revolution Bernard Bailyn, Harvard University Press. Doctor Bailyn is a Jefferson Lecturer, recipient of National Humanities Medal, Fellow of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences, received his doctorate from Harvard, professor emeritus, Harvard. He covers the topic extensively in the first 1/6th of that work.

    i’d refer you to the separation of church and state which is a rule here …and 100 years before we were a country would be BRITISH politics, duh. “the power to tax is the power to destroy” so we are destroying ourselves by paying taxes , grow up.
