This is Amazon’s first season of the show, officially the fourth season of the series. It’s obvious to me that they’ve laid out a path for the series and are comfortable with taking the slow route, which is vastly to it’s benefit. I’m assuming they saw the total shitshow that the final season of Game of Thrones turned out to be and realized that letting the story breath just a bit would work out for everyone.

Pretty sure it’s exactly like Game of Thrones except there’s like a dozen novels and novellas already published; so unlike on GoT where they ran out of books, this team won’t have to do any heavy lifting.
if only those guys had direct access to the writer of the books and had an emotional investment in making the series last as long as needed to tell the story that was laid out in previous seasons.
god I wish they had taken their time. instead we got fast travel, forgetful plot elements, the end of winter in a single scene, and ugh.
