A stunning visual treat that no one asked for and no one needed. There’s a ton of big names here, some of them with the most annoyingly distracting voices that it pulled me out of the immersion completely, like Seth Rogan as the warthog and John Oliver as the bird. I like some of the minor changes they made, like Scar not really being in control of the horde of hyenas, or the slight change of what “Hakuna Matata” really means.
I mean, both changes make the story more depressing and sad, but it was already a story about the death of a parent and the dark places that takes us.
