For all of you asking, “WTF?….why???” These were for drive in movie theaters. There are still drive in’s in business, and thriving, you just need to know where to look. America’s oldest drive-in, Shankweiler’s, is just outside of Allentown, PA and opened in 1934 (and is about an hour from me). www.shankweilers.com/

It was around 1980 when I went to my first Drive-In movie that broadcast the soundtrack over the radio, heady times it was.
I remember the clip on speakers. I also remember the repeated reminders not to drive off without returning to the speaker to its stand.
50/50 on bursting out the window or yanking out the wires.
Wires….I think they were wired in to come loose. Pretty sure they use to chase cars down at the end of the show.
My first Drive in experience that I remember was to see TMNT
My first Drive-in experience still brings a smile to my face.
In Alaska, the speakers had little heaters inside. They didn’t work.
