There’s not much to like about the new Gmail interface, it’s slower than the one I had a week ago, it takes up more space (even with the ‘compact’ mode), and none of the themes works.
How did google fuck up such an easy thing? don’t change shit that works.
Suggestions on programs to use instead of the gmail web interface?
at this point, i would say do NOT use Kontact. it’s usually pretty good, but the version that i’ve got currently (5.7.3) crashes if you look at it funny.
also, i tend to shy away from pretty much anything Google, especially including Gmail. i have a gmail account, but it is never used, and is more of a spam trap than anything else.
the recommendations i’ve been getting are for Thunderbird.
I can tolerate how slow it is to load.
I can get used to the blorby rounded-edges Fisher Price Toy look of it all.
But the fact that I can’t get rid of their bullshit auto-reply suggestions on my desktop? “awesome” “OK” “Great, thanks!” etc?
THAT is some downright egregious motherfucking shit, up with which I shall not put!
