Photographer Edward Burtynsky has a new book / fim / exhibit called Anthropocene. Some amazing photos of lithium mines, mine tailings, Nairobi oil thieves, pivot irrigation in the middle east, a field of 30,000 written-off hurricane Katrina cars… Amazing stuff.  Go see it if it comes to your town.
