Dolly Parton and Burt Reynolds sing and dance through an inspired tale of the story behind the demise of the real-life Chicken Ranch in the musical comedy, The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas. When a big TV crusader Melvin P. Thorpe (Dom DeLuise) threatens to expose the Chicken Ranch to public scandal and close it down, Miss Mona (Parton) doesn’t go down without a fight. With the help of Sheriff Ed Earl Dodd (Reynolds), the two join together to keep it open and find romance along the way. This was the first time I’ve seen this and I’m astonished at how much I enjoyed it, Dolly was downright perfect for this role and Burt played off her so well, I honestly felt they had a perfect on screen chemistry.

Much more nudity than I was expecting for a Dolly/Burt film, but I guess it makes sense considering the movie’s title.
