I’m still surprised that I’m enjoying a Roman Legion story this much.
-
A great ending to a very long running series. Yet another flower plucked well before it’s time and who do we have to blame for that? Disney.
-
Confusing to see three or four different people being called Snake-Eyes
-
A neat little wrap up of her adventure in Canada, I think I’m ready for some character growth with Hit-Girl, she’s stuck in a one note rut of hero worshipping her father and not having time for the simpler things in life.

This story is getting bonkers, but not in a good way. Lady has time to go to college, raise her kids, sleep, run a criminal empire, and isn’t ready to pull her own eyeballs out from her head? Additionally, she’s taking “just” $800 a week from her criminal activities and saying it’s a “soldier’s pay”? I don’t know much about military pay, but having $3200 a month take home sounds great, especially if it’s just side revenue to her main job.

Oh ffs, are they really going to make fundamental changes to Captain Marvel’s origin story in the comics months before the Captain Marvel movie comes out?
-
LCS did not have a copy of this pulled for me.

After 6 issues of wondering if I was ever going to be really interested in this character, here’s the issue that made the wait worth it. An amazing dawn of time story of how the first spirit was bound to man. Great story and art, but there’s six months of build up that you have to get through to really understand what’s going on.
-
Continuing one of the best storylines that Marvel OR LucasBooks has done in a while.
-
A mediocre mini series comes to a mediocre ending. I’m still shocked that no one objected to naming a robot “L3-37” like some kind of mid 2000’s haxxor kid.
-
Iron fist works much better on the page than he does on the screen, and this book is evidence of that.
-
The punisher gets reinvented! An entertaining story with Frank heading to prision, then escaping from prison with a long trail of dead bodies behind him.
-
A merc with a heart of gold, hired to kill the evil and murderous Spider-man, who was recently framed for a murder, then framed again for another one in this issue.
There were four books that I pulled from the Free or $1 bins:
- Captain Canuck Year One fcbd
Fantastic story that I’m going to start following up on in trade. - Destroyer
Weak art, but fantastic setting and an interesting story. This was a character I didn’t know of before finding him in the dollar bin, apparently he’s Solar, but…angrier? - Judge Dredd: Legends of the Law
Tourists from “Cit Brit” visiting Mega City One with predictably entertaining outcomes. - batman li’l gotham special edition
I love the art and story, but I’m not sure I’d be able to deal with an entire series like this. - Batman: White Knight Batman Day
I missed this story line completely when it came through originally, based on this free issue though, I’ll be picking up the TPB.
