Comic book and graphic novel sales fell 6.5% in 2017 from a 2016 high of $1.015 billion. Graphic novels brought in $570 million while comic books brought in about $350 million. I’m not entirely surprised by the decline in print media, I’ve gotten back into the actual floppies in the last year or so and the experience has been painful to say the least, all the characters I know and love are vastly different and seem to be presenting strong political viewpoints. That’s all fine and well but man I’m here to read comics not have a female version of every comic books character having uninteresting adventures.
