I don’t feel too burned by this one, my local comic shop had a 3/$1 sale and I picked up the entire run of the “Ghost Rider” series from 2016 which only ran for 5 issues, long enough to tell this one story. It features a “new” Ghost Rider with no indication as to what happened to the original Ghost Rider and who this new guy is. There’s also a number of other superheroes that show up that are familiar in name only, as they’re the off brand / transgendered version: Female Wolverine, “totally awesome” Hulk, Silk, and confusingly Colson and May from the Agents of Shield television series.. Silk is the only one that makes me go “oh hey, I like that character, wonder what they’re going to bring to the table. Sadly the answer is “nothing”. Having Coulson and May involved in the story confuses the hell out of me, I didn’t think the MCU-ABC stuff was being included in “616” comics, and with all the other guest starts there isn’t much room in the five issues to explore this new Ghost Rider. He seems to be very similar to the Ghost Rider from tv’s Agents of Shield, but with enough of a different to wonder why they even bothered calling him Ghost Rider in either place.
It was an ok comic, but I can’t suggest it to anyone.
PS “Four on the Floor” means “a four-speed manual gearshift mounted on the floor of a motor vehicle.” It was a new phrase to me and I thought it had to do with the number of guest starring characters until the 7th or 8th one showed up.
