I found a 4k code for cheap ($10 on amazon or $6 on a UV code site), so I bought it in 4k. Absolutely glorious in 4k, I recommend watching it in 4k, bu not because of the 4k, because honestly I don’t really tell the difference between 1080p upscaled to 4k vs “real” 4k. Watch it in 4k for the HDR. There’s a scene towards the end with a cloaked airplane that absolutely pops in HDR.

The primary reason you can’t tell a difference between the 4k and the upscaled 1080p is because they’re the same thing in this case. Like many movies, they simply upscaled the 2k version. 2k has 1080 horizontal scan lines.

I wasn’t really commenting on this specific movie, I can’t tell the difference on any of the movies I watch in 4k, even the ones that are listed as “real 4k” on that site.
Mind you, I still haven’t had the opportunity to buy a 4k disk, there’s no way in hell I’m going to spend $30 for a movie I can get digitally for $4 in the same format. I’m assuming that the disk might be slightly better but not enough to warrant that kind of price scale
