We experienced a hard drive failure and lost a bunch of audio, so Patron of the Week Lasse Andersen gets another interview, and we need to redo some 5 Songs episodes.
Backup your stuff, everyone. Or just be wealthy enough to have a million external hard drives that all back each other up.
Jason Graves wrote music for a new VR game called Lone Echo, from the studio Ready at Dawn. The music isn’t in the gameplay itself, but serves as respite from it. There’s multiplayer too.
In Lone Echo, you play the android, and the game plays the human. Nice role-reversal there, which offered Jason opportunities to have fun with human and non-human forms of music.
If I had to list my irrational fears, being alone in space would be near the top of the list, after being alone floating in the ocean, and a general fear of spiders. If I were floating alone in space, I’d like to have this music with me.
And if you wonder why “So Near, So Far” shows up so much in the playlist, it’s a 17-minute suite that includes a majority of the music Jason wrote for the game.
